文物简介：爱莲池位南康府谯楼东侧。为一长方形石池，中有石台，台上建观莲亭，两侧有青石板桥与池岸相连。北宋熙宁四年（1071年）八月，周敦颐赴任南康。就在衙署东侧凿池引水，种植莲花，取名“爱莲池”。他把自己的住处取名为“爱莲堂”，并在此写下了《爱莲说》。爱莲池呈长方形，四周花岗石护砌，长48.84米，宽84米，深8米，总面积为1661.24平方米。池之正中，筑有石台，花岗石砌垒，高2.8米，长宽各11.1米，面积为123.21平方米。台上有观莲亭。1981年星子县人民政府公布为第一批县级文物保护单位

Ailian pond is located on the east side of Nankang Fu 谯楼. For a rectangular stone pool, there is a stone platform, the platform to build lotus pavilion, on both sides of the blue stone bridge and the pool bank connected. In August 1071, the fourth year of Xining in the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhou Dunyi was appointed as Nankang. In the east side of the government chisel pond to divert water, planting lotus, named "lotus pond". He named his residence "Ailian Hall" and wrote "Ailian Said" here. Ailian pond is rectangular, surrounded by granite protection, 48.84 meters long, 84 meters wide, 8 meters deep, with a total area of 1661.24 square meters. In the middle of the pool, there is a stone platform, granite masonry, 2.8 meters high, 11.1 meters long and wide, and an area of 123.21 square meters. There is a lotus pavilion on the stage. 1981 Xingzi County People's Government announced the first batch of county-level cultural relics protection units.
